We are currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineering Technician to support the quality and reliability of advanced mechanical and electromechanical systems within a fast-paced prototype environment. This is a hands-on role based fully onsite in Waltham, MA, ideal for candidates with strong inspection experience and a background in low-volume or evolving product builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process inspections, quality checks, and final acceptance of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and support corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for quality issues
- Execute First Article Inspections (FAI) and incoming inspections on high-risk or first-time components
- Assist in the development of inspection protocols, standardized work instructions, and quality documentation
- Support the MRB (Material Review Board) process and track nonconforming parts
- Contribute to tool and fixture validation from a quality perspective
Required Skills:
- Experience in prototype, low-volume, or high-mix production environments
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and inspection techniques
- Mechanical/electromechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication with engineering, operations, and leadership teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in robotics, aerospace, medical devices, or advanced manufacturing
- Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and non-conformance tracking tools
- Hands-on experience with machining, 3D printing, or fixture/tooling development
- Exposure to lean, six sigma, or continuous improvement practices
- Understanding of ASME Y14.5-2018 standards
