Ardent Staffing is seeking an NPI Engineering Tech to join our client's fast-paced, cutting-edge robotics team. This is a hands-on role in developing advanced mechanical systems for the future of robots!! This is a unique opportunity to work with innovative technologies, troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems, and contribute to groundbreaking projects in a dynamic environment.
Location: Waltham, MA
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay: $55/hour
Contract Length: 6 months with the possibility of extension or conversion

What You’ll Do:
- Assemble and test intricate prototype mechanical components, including actuators, gearboxes, and robotic structures.
- Create and refine test plans and procedures with minimal guidance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Develop and document assembly processes and techniques to streamline prototype builds.
- Design tooling and fixtures using CAD, SolidWorks or Catia to support assembly and testing.
- Collaborate with engineers to refine designs, improve manufacturability, and enhance quality control.
- Organize lab spaces, tools, and equipment to optimize workflow and efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of hands-on mechanical expertise (automotive, motorsports, robotics, aerospace, etc.).
- Strong experience assembling, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical/electromechanical systems.
- Ability to independently develop processes, tooling, and fixtures for prototype builds.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia) to support design and tooling needs.
- Detail-oriented, team-focused, and adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with cable assembly and routing (soldering, crimping, over-molding).
Fabrication skills (welding, machining, etc.).
Exposure to electrical systems and electronics.
