CNC Programmer / Operator Machinist
We’re looking for a skilled CNC Programmer / Machinist to join a dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and vertical milling machines to produce high-quality precision parts. Location: Waltham, MA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $40 – $45 per hour, depending on fit and experience
What You’ll Do:
- Program and operate CNC lathes and mill/turn machines using CAD/CAM software
- Set up machines, install tooling, and adjust offsets for precision machining
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work orders to determine machining parameters
- Verify accuracy using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines
- Ability to read and edit G-code
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments
- Solid math skills for material fabrication calculations
- Previous experience with CNC programming
- Experience with SolidWorks, Catia, Esprit, Hypermill, or Cimatron
Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge of spur gear manufacturing methods
- Experience with Gleason gear shaping equipment
- Familiarity with GF wire & sinker EDM machines
