Inventory Manager
Materials and Inventory Control Manager
This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing material planning, procurement, inventory control, and the transition to the MiSys ERP system. The primary focus is to optimize inventory levels, implement robust processes to support production schedules, and ensure accurate cost of goods (COG) calculations to meet on-time delivery (OTD) and revenue objectives. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee material planning, procurement, and inventory control to support production schedules and achieve OTD and revenue targets.
- Lead the transition from a legacy MRP system to the MiSys ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to operations.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure accurate material tracking.
- Develop and maintain systems for calculating cost of goods (COG) to support financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to provide accurate lead times for order acknowledgments.
- Schedule material receipts and manage inventory to align with production needs, avoiding expedite fees and ensuring timely shipments.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts, oversee annual physical inventory, and generate associated reports.
- Maintain and review records of receipts, shipments, yields, inventories, and costs.
- Drive continuous improvement in material management processes in alignment with ISO 9001 standards and lean manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in material planning, procurement, and inventory control, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expert-level proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with specific experience implementing and managing the MiSys ERP system.
- Proven track record of successfully transitioning organizations from legacy MRP systems to modern ERP platforms.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating suppliers and optimizing inventory processes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data manipulation, reporting, and extracting actionable insights.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Self-directed leader with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and demonstrated longevity in previous roles.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
Work Location
Danvers, MA near Interstate I-95 and US Route 1. This position is 100% on-site at the factory.
Compensation
- Pay starts at $44 per hour.
- This is a temp-to-perm position.
