QC Inspector

Ardent Staffing is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to perform all inspection activities related to purchased or manufactured materials, subcomponents, assemblies, and packaging.

Essential Functions of the Quality Inspector:

• Perform inspection services in one or more inspection functions (incoming, in-process, and final).
• Determine the acceptability of purchased or manufactured materials, subcomponents, assemblies, and packaging.
• Accurately report inspection findings using current systems, including:
• Retention of samples
• Paper reports
• Electronic data entry and labor tracking software
• Collaborate with other departments to communicate product and material issues.
• Promote, enhance, and improve the Quality Management System.

Required Skills of the Quality Inspector:

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
• Proficiency in using small mechanical inspection tools such as:
• Micrometers
• Force gauges
• Calipers
• Electrical meters
• Ability to document inspection results, including:
• Inspection plans
• First piece inspections
• Retained samples
• Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs)
• Ability to sample products using standard inspection plans.

Desired Skills:

• Experience using Visual Measurement Machines (VMMs).
• Familiarity with force gauges and programmable force gauge systems.
• Ability to program VMMs and programmable gauges.
• Skill in developing inspection plans by identifying drawing characteristics and entering tolerances into templates.
• Ability to interpret statistical process control (SPC) data.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of related inspection experience.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Willingness and ability to be trained on computer software systems.
