Seeking a Process Engineering Technician with strong experience in plastics injection molding (a must). This role is responsible for changeovers, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of molding machines and related equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality plastic components. The position combines hands-on technical skills with continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, change over, and troubleshoot injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Install and remove molds, connect utilities, and adjust machine parameters to meet production standards.
- Apply scientific molding techniques for process development, optimization, and defect reduction.
- Support validation activities including PPAP, DOE, and engineering trials.
- Collaborate with Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Production teams to meet manufacturing goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation (process sheets, logs, reports).
- Identify root causes of molding issues (short shots, flash, burn marks, etc.) and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, scrap reduction, and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience as an Injection Molding Technician/Process Technician.
- Certification in molding processes (RJG, Paulson, Master Molder, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proficiency in scientific molding, volumetric processing, and troubleshooting automation (robots/pickers).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.
