Quality Inspector (Temp-to-Hire) – Urgent Need!

- Schedule: Full-time; on-site; potential occasional travel to vendor/customer sites
Summary
Join the quality team to perform inspections on purchased and manufactured materials, subcomponents, assemblies, and packaging. You’ll ensure compliance to drawings and specifications across incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections per drawings, specs, and procedures.
- Determine acceptability of materials, components, assemblies, and packaging.
- Record results accurately in electronic systems; retain samples and complete reports (e.g., inspection plans, first-piece, NCMRs).
- Communicate product/material issues with production, engineering, and supply chain to drive resolution.
- Support and improve QMS practices and standard work.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of related quality inspection experience.
- Able to read/interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with inspection tools: micrometers, calipers, force gauges, and electrical meters.
- Experience documenting inspections in electronic systems (ERP/MES/QMS).
- Familiarity with sampling per standard inspection plans (e.g., ANSI/ASQ Z1.4).
- English reading/writing; ability to learn new software quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Visual Measurement Machines (VMM) and programmable force gauges; ability to create/modify programs.
- Ability to develop inspection plans and enter tolerances from drawings.
- Understanding of SPC, control charts, and capability data.
- Exposure to Lean tools (5S, Kaizen) and corrective action processes (CAPA).
Work Environment/Physical
- Manufacturing environment; use of PPE as required.
- Ability to stand/walk/sit for extended periods and handle small parts
