Position Title: Screen Print/Press Operator
Reports To: Warehouse/Screen Printing Manager

Company Overview
We are seeking a skilled Screen Print/Press Operator to join our team and play a key role in producing high-quality printed materials. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of screen print presses and ensuring timely delivery of exceptional products. This position is based on-site at our Fitchburg, Massachusetts facility.
What You'll Do
As a Screen Print/Press Operator, you will be a central part of the production process — from setup through final inspection. Responsibilities include:
  • Operating the Press: Set up, operate, and monitor screen printing presses to ensure smooth production. Load paper, adjust feed and tension controls, and respond to system alerts.
  • Ink Management: Obtain or mix inks accurately and fill ink fountains according to job specifications.
  • Quality Control: Secure printing plates, adjust tolerances, and pull proofs to verify ink coverage, density, alignment, and registration. Perform ongoing quality checks during runs and correct issues promptly.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Clean ink fountains, plates, and cylinders; perform minor repairs with hand tools; and escalate major equipment concerns to management.
  • Digital Adjustments: Make necessary edits to digital files, including fonts, graphics, or color separations, to ensure print accuracy.
  • Production Oversight: Review job orders for quantities, stock, colors, and special instructions. Confirm materials meet all requirements.
  • Material Handling: Retrieve and organize printed parts for subsequent passes, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Inventory & Organization: Monitor supply levels and request replenishments as needed while maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Screen Print Group Leader, assisting with setups, heat treating stock, and other tasks as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily time and production records.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Adjust humidity and temperature to optimize press performance.
  • Auxiliary Equipment Operation: Set up and operate related equipment such as cutting, folding, or laminating machines.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 1–3 years of printing experience (screen printing preferred).
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Technical Aptitude: Knowledge of printing technologies and ability to make precise adjustments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled at troubleshooting equipment and print quality issues.
  • Independence: Able to work independently under standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Safety & Quality Focus: Dedication to following safety standards, quality policies, procedures, work instructions, ISO9000 standards, and ITAR regulations.
Compliance Requirement: Due to ITAR and/or CUI compliance, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3).
Pre-Employment Requirement: Background check required.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $22–24 per hour
