Ardent Staffing is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support a busy manufacturing facility in Worcester, MA. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity for a talented mechanic who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of equipment performance.
We are looking for candidates with strong electrical and mechanical skills, including experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC troubleshooting. Prior experience with rubber or plastic injection molding machinery is highly preferred. Candidates with supervisory experience or those interested in mentoring junior staff are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (up to 480V), motors, sensors, and wiring
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled equipment (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent)
- Perform mechanical maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Conduct maintenance on injection molding machines (calibration, tear-downs, rebuilds, preventive maintenance)
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
- Follow safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment
- Provide training or guidance to junior mechanics and maintenance staff
- Participate in continuous improvement of maintenance processes
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Technician in a manufacturing setting
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), PLC troubleshooting, and mechanical systems
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of injection molding equipment preferred
- Familiar with root cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting
- Fabrication and machining experience is a plus
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of responsibility and attention to detail
Work Environment:
This position is based in an active manufacturing facility and will require occasional work in extreme temperatures, noise, and vibration. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required per company policies. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
