Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in setting up automated systems, converting homegrown testing equipment to state-of-the-art automated systems, and driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in high-volume production environments, clean room operations, and optomechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and optimize automated manufacturing systems to increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring seamless transition from development to production.
  • Convert homegrown testing equipment to advanced automated systems to enhance precision and reliability.
  • Replace manual wafer scriber tools with automated solutions to improve accuracy and productivity.
  • Update and automate die bonding and wire bonding equipment to align with industry best practices.
  • Oversee high-volume manufacturing processes, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and maintenance for optomechanical machines, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Develop and implement plans for manufacturing expansion to accommodate company growth.
  • Improve overall shop processes, driving efficiency and reducing waste through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing challenges and implement solutions.
  • Conduct regular audits and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in setting up and optimizing automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from development to production.
  • Experience in converting manual or homegrown testing equipment to automated systems.
  • Knowledge of clean room operations and protocols.
  • Familiarity with manual wafer scribers, die bonders, and wire bonders, with the ability to update and automate these systems.
  • Extensive experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in optomechanical systems and their maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute manufacturing expansion projects.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and ISO9001 standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
