We are currently seeking a Sr. Embedded Systems Engineer for our client in Central MA. This Engineer will be responsible for developing electronic hardware that will be incorporated into optical amplifier and fiber-based laser products and accessories.

- Direct Hire – Salary range $125,000 – $150,000 (dependent on experience)
Duties of the Electronics Engineer / embedded Systems Engineer include:
- Design, implement, test, and release PCB (printed circuit board) designs for new products, and features
- Design, test, implement, and release embedded software for new features and products
- Test, debug, and integrate embedded designs at the system level.
- Document all software designs and specifications in accordance with applicable medical device regulations – for example, verification & validation protocols, software requirements, design specifications and even risk analysis.
- Support and cross collaborate with other departments, including field service, R&D, technical support, and manufacturing.
Experience requirements:
- 10+ years of work experience in embedded systems software and hardware
- Strong understanding of PCB design, and documentation
- Analog/Digital Design including FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays)
- Solid understanding of communications via SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth
- Must be proficient in C/C++ and Verilog programming languages
- Must have experience developing embedded systems software for ARM microprocessor or equivalent
- Experience in the development of FPGA designs using Quartus Prime or equivalent
- Transferring new designs to production, including test fixtures/procedures
- Experience with compliance testing activities
