Ardent Staffing is hiring for our client in Merrimack, NH! We're looking for a well-qualified HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist – Direct Hire. 75-80K
Role Overview: The HR & Payroll Specialist will manage HR functions and payroll processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role involves sourcing and onboarding new hires, maintaining personnel records, administering benefits, and supporting various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities for the HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist:
HR Duties:
  • Source, recruit, interview, and background screen candidates.
  • Onboard new hires and maintain training and personnel files.
  • Report HR metrics and recruiting efforts weekly.
  • Execute HR strategies, programs, and policies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide accurate HR documentation, including contract offers, disciplinary actions, and termination letters.
  • Interpret policies and employment legislation as needed.
  • Advise managers on employee relations practices and manage grievances.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain HR templates and forms.
  • Provide training and support to managers.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Payroll Duties:
  • Prepare and disburse payroll accurately and on time.
  • Collect, calculate, and import payroll data from timesheets and timekeeping systems.
  • Update payroll records for status changes, tax updates, direct deposit, and deductions.
  • Review payroll reports for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Administer benefits and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k).
  • Ensure payroll compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Manage Leave of Absence requests in accordance with the Family Medical Leave Act and related laws.
  • Perform other payroll duties as needed.
Additional Duties for the HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist:
  • Assist with various accounting functions.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable.
  • Conduct audits.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
Qualifications for the HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist:
  • Proven experience in HR and payroll roles.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (Paylocity preferred).
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
