We're on the hunt for a Buyer II who can tackle the challenge of overseeing sourcing requirements, managing commodities, and ensuring seamless supply chain operations. This Buyer II opportunity is at a large, well-established, and growing Aerospace and Electronics contract Manufacturer in Central MA.  

As a Buyer II, you'll be an integral part of the company’s success story, working with a dedicated team to keep the supply chain humming and all projects on track. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth execution of the materials management processes, ensuring our products reach our customers efficiently and on time.

As a Buyer II, you'll be at the forefront of our materials management operations. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Taking charge of end-to-end management of assigned commodities, ranging from build to print PCBs to components, plastics, and sheet metal.
  • Running and executing MRP new purchase suggestions, handling purchase order changes, and serving as a vital link between our customers and our supply chain.
  • Advising on Purchase Price Variance (PPV) based on material availability, providing crucial insights to our program managers.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and program managers to mitigate excess and obsolete inventory (E&O), finding reduction and return opportunities for materials.
  • Resolving issues related to non-conforming material disposition, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Partnering closely with the Customer Focus Team (CFT) to provide timely updates on material status for assigned programs.
  • Incorporating the company’s supply chain strategy into the solicitation and supplier selection processes.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives and participating in cost reduction projects.
The ideal Buyer II candidates will possess:
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong negotiation prowess and a solid understanding of EMS supply chain dynamics and distribution networks.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A knack for problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Independence and the ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications:  
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience that demonstrates your supply chain prowess.
  • At least 3 years of supply chain/materials experience in a high technology/EMS environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential, and experience with Access is a definite plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and experience with Epicor ERP systems is a strong advantage.
